Revised Timings for Single-Shift Schools
According to the Punjab School Education Department, separate timings have been set for boys’ and girls’ schools.
For Boys’ Single-Shift Schools:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:45 AM to 2:45 PM
- Friday: 8:45 AM to 12:30 PM
For Girls’ Single-Shift Schools:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM to 12:15 PM
Officials explained that this change will help students avoid the early morning cold while ensuring full academic hours.
Double-Shift School Timings
Schools operating in two shifts will follow the new morning and evening schedules.
For Boys’ Double-Shift Schools:
- Morning Shift: 8:45 AM to 12:45 PM (Mon–Thu)
- Friday: Until 12:30 PM
- Evening Shift: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM (Mon–Thu)
- Friday: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
For Girls’ Double-Shift Schools:
- Morning Shift: 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM (Mon–Thu)
- Friday: Until 12:15 PM
- Evening Shift: 12:45 PM to 4:45 PM (Mon–Thu)
- Friday: 1:45 PM to 4:45 PM
Implementation and Guidelines
All District Education Authorities (DEAs) have been instructed to ensure that both public and private schools strictly follow these new timings.
Officials said that the updated schedule balances education and health safety during the winter season.
School heads have also been directed to:
- Ensure classrooms are properly ventilated.
- Advise students to wear warm clothing.
- Maintain a comfortable environment for learning.
